About the Author

Nancy Dew Taylor grew up in Lake City, SC. She graduated from Furman University (BA), the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (MA), and the University of South Carolina (PhD). In 2008 Emrys Press published her chapbook, Stepping on Air. Winner of the 2011 Linda Flowers Award from the NC Humanities Council, she has also received awards from the Porter Fleming Literary Competition and the Rita Dove Poetry Contest at Salem College’s Center for Women Writers. Her poems have been published in The South Carolina Review, Kalliope, Appalachian Journal, and Tar River Poetry, as well as in A Millennial Sampler of South Carolina Poetry and The Southern Poetry Anthology. She currently lives in Greenville, SC.
