Description
Obesity, sometimes referred to as the pandemic of the 21st century, has created immense problems in Chilean society. Like many other developed countries, Chile's rates of obesity have risen exponentially in recent decades. This increase in obesity has led to an increase in negative health conditions such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and some cancers. To try and combat the rising prevalence of obesity, Chile's government has enacted a restrictive law aimed at addressing the issue from a multi-faceted perspective. By approaching this public health crisis from multiple angle, Chile's government hopes to reduce current rates of obesity while encouraging healthier habits for future generations.
