The Body Project is a dissonance based body acceptance program that is designed to help young adults resist the cultural pressures to conform to an appearance ideal.The Body Project is supported by more research than any other body image program and has been found to reduce the onset of eating disorders. In this internship program, peer leaders are trained in the Body Project curriculum and then disseminate the program to other Furman students.
