Presentation will address why agencies such as The Meyer Center are needed in our communities (research on children with specific special needs), key projects and activities participated in, and major takeaways from the experience including what was learned about self and capacity for leadership. It will share how this internship provided exposure to diverse stakeholders concerned about children with special needs and how it impacted college student development including civic identity and critical thinking.
