Abstract
This study attempts to identify the effects of social identity and promotions on attendance at games of the Columbia Fireflies, a Class A minor league team. Data was collected from secondary sources and direct observation. We control for factors such as box scores, weather conditions, and team records. We suggest various ways of appealing to a wider audience, potentially increasing the size of a team's fan base and improving local economy.
