Description
This timeline is an overview of the foundational history of the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program (WGSS) at Furman University, as well as milestones in women's history at Furman. Join us as we celebrate the remarkable growth of WGSS, one that began in the 1970s and 1980s with student-driven courses and has now grown into a program that offers a curriculum developed by 13 departments on campus. Content on this timeline has been compiled from archival research, email communications, and conversations. As we celebrate these milestones, we also look forward to the future of WGSS.
