Description / Abstract

New Skills/Knowledge Acquisition in the Area of Sexuality Studies. February 2011-August 2011. This ACS Faculty Renewal Grant was used to create a faculty seminar on queer theory and sexuality studies. Faculty from a variety of disciplines attended events sponsored by this grant, as well as undergraduate students. As a result of this work, the important issues in sexuality studies were integrated into the classes of the participants and the university gained several faculty capable of teaching one of the pivotal courses in Furman's Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies program: Queer Theory.
