Abstract

We have measured the microwave spectrum of 2,3,6-trifluorophenol for the first time. Using a custom-built chirped-pulse Fourier transform microwave (CP-FTMW) spectrometer, we measured the spectrum in the 8 – 18 GHz range. To support our analysis, we performed ab initio calculations at the B3LYP/6-311+G(d,p) level of theory. We will present on the spectrometer design, the rotational constants of the 2,3,6-trifluorophenol, and the distortion constants of the same molecule. This study is one of a series of studies performed in our laboratory on di- and tri-fluorophenols.
