[Pointing Finger] Senator Butler has been giving the Senate a specimen of his drivel, in reply to Mr. Sumner's speech. See the telegraphic column. He will be met and put to the test as soon as the Senators fromMassachusetts are again in their place. After all the attempts at insult and contumely which Butler and the South have attempted to heap upon Sumner, Seward, Wade, &c., it is rather rich to hear them whining about personalities and complaining of abuse. The scoundrels were fairly met and repulsed, and that is the secret of all their movements. The spirit of the North is fully aroused.
