Washington, June 2.

Every one here thought when the stand takenby Senator Wilson was made known that a rencontrewould be the immediate consequence; thesequel to the correspondence should therefore bepublished. Col. Lane called upon Mr. Wilsonon Friday morning after the receipt of Mr.Wilson's reply, and answered from Mr. Brooksthat no assault upon him was contemplated, andthat he and his friends might disarm. Mr.Wilson accepted these assurances, and appearedin the avenue without arms. The whole affairis over with, so far as these two are concerned.
